My love,
When I see you, my heart feels as though rain has suddenly fallen upon a desert
As though the moon has whispered its deepest secret into the silence of the night
I have tried so many times to put my love into words
But every word feels too small when it stands before you
You are the prayer my heart is almost afraid to ask for
Because I fear even God might say that this happiness is more than my destiny could hold
Your smile is the light of my day
Your voice is the peace within my heart
And your memory is a fragrance that remains with me even across the distance
If destiny ever asked me what I wanted from life
I would not ask for wealth or kingdoms
I would only ask for your hand in mine
And a road where you walk beside me at every turn
For me, love is not simply wanting you near
Love is wanting you to be happy
Even when my happiness means being close to you or quietly loving you from afar

Please never mistake it for indifference
